Dezzie

I do not have a photo of Dezzie, other than of her in the Family Group Picture. I hope to someday find one!

Dezzie L. HILLIS was born in November 1896, in Ralls, Crosby County, Texas. My father said her name was pronounced "Daisy".

Dezzie married Roy Ernest CLENDENNEN in November 1911, in Crosby County, Texas.

Together, they had 3 children... Lisa, Ernest, and Goldie.

The family story is that Dezzie was in fragile health, and the family moved to New Mexico, for health reasons. She died at the age of 24, in 1921, in Tularosa, New Mexico, and is buried in Fairview Cemetery.

Roy married a second time, to Verlan Margaret GRAHAM, November 1924, in Floydada, Texas.

Together, they had 6 children... Oneta, Billy, Harold, Norman, Dalmon, and Coy.

Roy died in February 1968 and is buried in Memory Lane Cemetery, in Silver City, New Mexico.

Verlan died in July 1979, and is also buried in Silver City, New Mexico.
