Rufus

This photo of Rufus and "Faye" HILLIS was apparently taken about August of 1963, according to the stamp above the photo.

Rufus Leonard HILLIS [16 Oct 1902 - 21 Sep 1928] was born in Texas, most likely Bowie County, as the family was in that area before going up into Oklahoma. Rufus had a twin brother, Luther David  HILLIS, who died at the young age of 25.

Rufus married Ruby "Faye" SULLIVAN, who was a cousin of Bertha GROTTS, his twin brother's wife. They married January 1925, in Hale County, Texas. Together, they had 5 children... Rufus Jr., Donald, Bobbie, Nova, and Richard.

Rufus died December 1970 in Bakersfield, California, and is buried in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Bakersfield, California. Faye died October 1993 in Bakersfield, California.Rufus
