Minnie

This photo of Minnie HILLIS RATTAN was said to be taken sometime in 1953. My father said she was his favorite Aunt, and I was named for her, and my maternal grandmother [who was named Wilhelmine, but called "Minnie"], and my paternal great-grandmother, Minnie MARSHALL WARD.

Minnie Louetta HILLIS [08 Jan 1898 - 27 Oct 1977] was born in Bowie County, Texas.

She married Virgil Arthur RATTAN, Feb 1917, in Crosby County, Texas.

Together, they had 6 children... Lawrence, Truett, Raymond, Justine, Velda Mae, and Dorothy.

Virgil died January 1964, and is buried in East Mound Cemetery in Matador, Texas.

I've been told that Minnie married again, to a Clarence RAMSEY, but have not yet proven that.

She died in Briston, Oklahoma, according to family, and is said to also be buried in Matador, but that also has not been verified yet. I'm finding that Oklahoma records are not yet that plentiful for research online!Minnie
